ZA/UM is a video game studio that in 2019 released the award-winning role-playing game Disco Elysium. The studio has offices in London and Brighton. Currently, the team is composed of around 30 writers, artists, developers, and producers.

The Role

We are looking for an HR generalist that would join our admin team to help with various personnel-related matters. This role will be supervised by our HR manager and includes working with people across the company.

We can only accept London based or adjacent applicants, as even though parts of the job are remote, presence in the office is expected with some frequency. Therefore, we can only consider candidates with the right to work in the UK.

The job includes collaborating with an international team of producers, designers, and engineers.

The job can (initially) be done remotely, and it is a part-time position.

  • 2-3 days per week (16-24 hours).

  • Managing the recruitment process – from writing job advertisements and making selections to conducting interviews
  • Employee onboarding and offboarding – including right to work checks
  • Monitoring people’s time-off and helping Leads in finding the most suitable holiday days for employees
  • Managing the HR software which holds employee data
  • Writing, updating, and communicating company policies
  • Organising the performance review process
  • Making travel arrangements for employees (including P11 submissions)
  • Miscellaneous administrative tasks
  • Prior experience in the HR field – minimum 3-4 years
  • Knowledge of employment/immigration law
  • Prior experience of advising managers and employees in HR matters
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable and empathetic
  • IT skills (proficiency with Microsoft Office)
