We are looking for a seasoned Lead Technical Artist to lead, develop and support art pipelines in collaboration with our leads, directors, artists and programmers. ZA/UM is working on projects with art that is distinct from industry standard PBR approaches so applicants are expected to be comfortable exploring new ground routinely.

While we prefer applicants with a right to work in the UK, candidates without it will still be considered due to the remote nature of the work. However, we do not foresee ourselves sponsoring visas in the short term.

Important: For this role you must be based in Europe or on Universal Time Coordinated UTC - 1 to - 5 maximum.

Responsibilities
  • Planning, developing and maintaining art pipelines for characters, environments, FX, UI.
  • Designing, communicating and optimising processes, tools and methods for asset production across one or several projects.
  • Creating custom editor tools for Unity and/or add-ons for Blender.
  • Working together with the programming team to deliver an optimised game(s)
Skills & requirements
  • 5+ years as a Technical Artist or relevant experience with at least 1 published title and exposure to a full project life cycle with a 10+ team.
  • Fluency in C# and HLSL and/or shader node tools on real time rendering pipelines.
  • Writing clear and concise code and documentation.
  • Communication and collaboration skills.
  • Some GPU Rendering profiling knowledge.
