ZA/UM is a video game studio that in 2019 released the award-winning role-playing game Disco Elysium. We have offices in London and Brighton, but our team is spread across a number of countries around the globe. Currently, the team is composed of around 50 writers, artists, developers and producers.

We are looking for an art-inclined Shader Artist to sketch, develop and optimise Unity shaders and materials in collaboration with our artists and programmers. ZA/UM is working on projects with art that is distinct from industry standard PBR approaches so applicants are expected to be comfortable exploring new ground routinely.

  • 2+ years of experience in creating shaders (either programming or visual scripting).
  • Education or working experience as an artist, animator, designer or other visual field within or out of games industry.
  • Familiarity with Unity’s rendering pipelines.
  • Ability to sketch quick and dirty shader experiments.
  • Writing working code and clear documentation.
  • Communication and collaboration skills.
